Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day everyone.

Today was one of the first nice days we have had in a while. Please, oh please, let summer be here to stay (or even Spring). We are so tired of the rain and the cold.

Today Miles had his first taste of watermelon and loved it. If you look close enough you will find he saved a little extra on his shirt for later :)

5 Months

Our little Miles has turned 5 months old and has more tricks then ever.

Rolling over in both directions is a breeze now. I turn my head for a second and he's rolled over a few times by the time I turn back around.

Dad knows just how to make him laugh.

He's getting the hang of sitting up. He can't sit on his own, but we can put him in his high chair, big boy stroller, etc., strap him in, and he's good to go.

We have started solid foods and he loves them. So far we have tried carrots, broccoli, and bananas with cereal and loves them all. I can not scoop it up fast enough before he is lunging towards me, mouth wide open, grunting for more.

He is now taking naps in his crib but the amount of sleep he is getting is unsatisfactory for mama (and cranky Miles), hence the huge gaps between posts. Does anyone have any tips?

Pretty much is sleeping through the night (hallelujah!!!) only waking occasionally for an early morning feeding.

He's much more alert with the people and things around him and is mr. grabby-pants with anything within reach. I'm convinced he just likes to see me bob up and down, so he throws everything he grabs onto the floor. At least I get some squats in somehow.

He will smile or laugh at almost anyone which lights up everyone's day.

He's still drooling up a storm (see photo below) and has been super crabby not himself so I'm guessing we are working on more teeth.

Fun times with Mimi.

Easter

So, I know this was a little while ago but I still feel like these pictures are great and deserve their time to shine. So without further ado, here are pictures from Easter!

Mother's Day

This year, for obvious reasons, was a very special Mother's day for me. I have always wanted to be a mommy and most days I have to pinch myself that I really am one. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, baby, and family. I am so proud to be your mommy Miles.

I am also so lucky to have an AMAZING mother. She is the kindest, sweetest, good hearted, hard working, and darn right prettiest :) person I know. She would do anything for us and I can truly say she is one of my dearest friends. Thanks for being you Mom and everything do.

And not too many people can say what I'm about to say.... I also have a wonderful mother-in-law! That's right folks. She is a great listener and has a wealth of knowledge about so many things. She too would drop everything and help us with anything. She loves us all so much and we appreciate everything she does for us.

Here we all are on Mother's Day, all the mom's and their kids.

4 Months

This posting is incredibly late, but here it is nonetheless. Miles turned four months old April 13th and has been very busy. Here are some stats....

Weight: 14 pounds, 25th percentile
Height: 26 inches, 90th percentile
Head: 16.5 inches, 50th percentile

Miles can roll over from his tummy to back with grace now (as apposed to the thud, or "accidental" roll). He is almost there going from back to tummy too. This kid is constantly squirming, kicking, and now, pulling (mostly mommy's hair. Not cool).

His hand/eye coordination is really great. He is grabbing and actually playing with things with purpose.

Is becoming chatty and giggly.

Can blow bubbles like a pro, a very slobbery pro.

Has found his tongue and you will usually find him with it sticking out and making funny noises.

His two bottom, front teeth have made an appearance, to the horror of his breast feeding mother. We'll see how much longer that lasts :) I have to say I am glad to see these teeth because I thought for a few weeks that an evil alien had taken residence in my sweet baby's body. Now that they have broken, he is much happier.

He may have also been crabby because when we went to the doctor, we found out he has a double ear infection. He's on medicine now and seems to be acting happier.

Miles has also started grabbing for our food and drinks while we are eating so the doctor suggested we start him on some rice cereal. Let the fun begin!

My little boy is sleeping so well at night, it's great! He goes to bed around 7:30 and stays asleep until 4-5:30 for a feeding and then goes back to sleep until 7-8!!!! Oh happy day!

The thing that I am most excited about (and am a little nervous to write because I don't want to jinx it) is that he might have gotten the idea of napping IN HIS CRIB!!! I was having such a hard time with this. He would sleep for 20-30 minutes in his crib and then wake up screaming and would not go back down. He would sleep in his car seat no problem, but I wanted to break him from this habit and get more into a routine. I am happy to report yesterday, and so far today, he has napped for 1.5 hours each nap in his crib. I am just so proud of him I could cry.

Daddy seems to be his favorite person in the whole world. Sigh... :)

The binky says it all... "My Dad Rocks"

I think I say this every month, but it's so true, his little personality is shining through more and more each day and it's just so fun to see. I love that I am able to be with him and witness these things on a daily basis.

We have also been to our friend Teagan's 2nd birthday party, went to the aquarium with her, hung out with our friend Charlie, met Marge, Ariana, and Alana, celebrated Easter, hung out with family, celebrated Mimi, grandma, and auntie Andrea's birthdays, wished baby James a happy birthday from afar, and found out we will be adding a few new friends to our group in the near future!
