Ok, last night Miles slept from 7:30 pm until 5:00 am without a peep, whimper, scream, shriek. He then ate and proceeded to go back to sleep until 7:00. This may be due to the fact that he only slept once during the day for about an hour, but whatever. Please oh please oh please don't let that be a fluke!!!!! Why then was it SO hard for me to wake up this morning at 7? Who the heck knows, but it was a rough day all day long. So far he's been sleeping for an hour and a half without a sound, fingers crossed!
Does anyone have advice for me on how to get my little man to take naps consistently for longer then 20-40 minutes in his crib? Going a little nutty here.
Four month pics and stats coming soon!

First Family Vacation!
A few weeks ago we all hopped on a plane and headed to Arizona to my parents house out there. My parents and Nonna went as well. I have an Uncle, Aunt and cousin that live out there so we got to see them and my Grandpa and his wife came up from Florida for a visit. Lots of good family time, and many of them met Miles for the first time.
Our little man did pretty good on the flight out there. It was a late evening flight and it kept getting delayed and Miles got more and more fidgety as time went on. When we finally were able to board the plane, I took my seat next to a sweet lady and her husband. At this point I was so nervous about how he would do, I was a little sick to my stomach. I think she saw the look of fear on my face and reassured me that if he cried she wouldn't be bothered by it and that she understood what it was like traveling with children, she has three of her own. Then she proceeds to tell this horror story of when she first traveled with her first child at four months old (Miles's age) and how she screamed the entire time. People were trying to pay the flight attendants to move their seats away from her. They had to catch a connecting flight on their way to their destination, but instead of getting back on another plane, she drove there instead because her daughter was so bad. GREAT! This is where I think I lost it for a minute. Luckily he feel asleep after twenty minutes and stayed asleep the whole flight. On the way back he did great as well.
While we were in Arizona we hiked, shopped, played golf, hung out with family, relaxed, went off roading, had a family BBQ, and played games. Miles walked through his first casino, went for his first swim, and drove through miles and miles of (bumpy) dessert. I also think he really started to teeth there which was a drooly mess and made for a cranky baby some days. It was the first time I saw my parents house out there and it is a beautiful place and very relaxing.
On the last night that we were there I wanted to go to the hot tub they have in the subdivision. This is one of the only things I wanted to do while I was there and I was determined to finally do it on the last night. After packing I convinced my mom to go with me at around 9:30 at night. So, we're sitting in the hot tub across from each other and then all of a sudden my mom is looking past me and she has gone silent and big eyed. I turn around to see a big bob cat about ten feet away from us on the other side of the fence staring at us. I turn back around to see my mother has already jumped out of the hot tub and was running to the bathroom for cover. She says she told me to "come on, let's get out of here", but I never heard this :) We are in the bathroom deciding what to do, should we run out of the pool area because it's probably moved on, or should we wait in the bathroom for awhile because it's waiting to pounce us. The pool area is surrounded by boulders, cactus, and plants and not really well lit once you leave the pool so we very slowly open the gate. My mom tells me to walk out slowly and not to run because we might attract more attention that way. Well, I can tell you, as soon as we were safely out of the gate I ran all the way to their house. No wonder we were the only ones at the hot tub at night! We get in the house and my dad and Nonna are there asking how it was. After we caught our breath, we told them what happened. The funny thing was we were trying to convince Nonna to come with us, thank goodness she decided to stay behind!

Nick saved me from falling off the edge! :) |
Bob cat was just on the other side of this fence |
We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again soon, but we could do without another bob cat siting :)

Friends and Aquariums
The first really nice day we had in Chicago, we decided to take a walk over the the aquarium and become members. We have been bound and determined to get our money's worth, so we have gone three times in about 2.5 weeks. One time we went we took my mom with.
This past weekend we were lucky enough to have our good friends Cari and Andy come visit from Indy with one of their sons, Ryder. It was the first time we got to meet Ryder, and what a big guy he is! He's a month younger than Miles but he has at least three pounds on our runt. The rolls go on for days and I just love it! He showed me how much he liked me by projectile vomiting all over me and my floor while I was trying to take a picture with him. I think the excitement was just too much for him :)
Again, because we feel like we need to get our money's worth, we took them to..... THE AQUARIUM! Bet you didn't see that one coming. We had a great time with them and we hope we can get together again soon. Thanks for coming Chastains!
Auntie Andrea had off for Spring Break so she came to visit us and was able to get Miles's first real giggle out of him. So fun.
No! Don't eat the baby! Yes, a shark's mouth is bigger. |
Too much aquarium fun makes boys tired. |

Wanted to get both kiddos in pic, but someone decided to sleep instead |
Very often, Ryder has a surprised look on his face, for no reason at all :) |
