Went to the doctor yesterday and she said I'm about 1-2 cm dilated so we are heading in the right direction! This of course gives us no indication when he will come, could be tomorrow, could be in 3 weeks, but progress is progress. I'll take it! We will have another ultrasound next week (our due week, what!?!?!) to see what the heck is going on in there. Can't wait to see him!
Side note: My friend Cari always told me how much she hates being "checked" at her doctor visits to see how she's progressing and I can fully agree with that statement now. It is NO fun.

Savannah
A few weeks ago the hubs and I took one last trip before this little guy comes into our lives. Ever since we started dating Nick has told me how beautiful Savannah Georgia is and how he wanted to take me there. Well, we finally made it and he was right, it was gorgeous! We had a really nice time walking around the city, exploring all the history, parks and great restaurants they have there. It was also great just to get to spend some time with Nick away from our "usual" life. What a good trip!

Playing Tourist
While my family was in town from California, we decided to do some fun touristy Chicago things. One day we went up to the Sears Tower. I had never been, so I was excited to see the views from up there. They added these new lookouts in the observation deck that were definitely the highlight for us. The lookouts are glass bump-outs that make it appear as though you are floating in air. I'm not doing justice explaining it, I'll just let the pictures do the talking. The cousins and I had a good time posing in them, that's for sure!

Shower's Galore!
Over the past few weeks we have been fortunate to have not one, but two baby showers thrown for us. One of the showers was thrown by my good friends Shauna and Kristin and a bunch of my high school (and one college :)) friends attended. The ladies did such an amazing job! The theme was owls and they really outdid themselves with all the cute owl paraphernalia. They even made an owl cake! Everything was just too adorable.
(Big thanks to Edith for taking all the lovely pictures. Check out her website folks www.edithphotography.com).
Our second shower was thrown by "the grandmas". We were so lucky to have so many people from near and far join us. There were friends and family there from Texas, California, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. For me, that was the best part of the shower, getting to see so many people come together. It was a lovely shower and a big thank you to everyone that came and helped out with everything.
(Thank you Monica for taking these pics. We wouldn't have any if it weren't for you!)
I was so overwhelmed by everyone's generosity, it really blew my mind. Thank you so much for everyone that was able to come to either shower. Also, thank you for the love and support and for caring so much about our little guy, we are truly blessed.
Here's the scene of the nursery (a work in progress) after the showers. Where do we start?
There were so many goodies Maddie got herself trapped. Don't worry, we eventually let her out, after she helped put stuff away of course :)
